Ability to select pieces of text, rather than whole lines

Simply the ability to highlight text with click and drag, just as you would do 
in a text editor like notepad. Currently if you try to click and drag text, 
only the single line is selected. Perhaps this could be configurable because 
some people may prefer the current select behavior.

I often need to copy pieces of texts out of the log files and paste it 
somewhere else. Sometimes I just want to target a specific error message to 
send to someone else. Right now I need to select the whole line, paste it, then 
remove the bits that I didn't need. I rarely need the whole line, so it is a 
little cumbersome.

Planning to split the tail-window into 3 parts, so it will become "Log", 
"Detail", "Filter" (Possible to show hide the "Detail"- and "Filter"-parts). 
The "Detail" will be a rich text editor, that will display a single selected 
line, which enables single word highlighting and text selection.
