change or modify notification sound #280

OK, this isn't a new feature request, but if you like the idea, maybe some
poeple like it too.

I only want to know how can I disable or change the notification sound Hotot
uses to advert about new tweets.

I don't really like so much the original sound, because is a little annoying.
Everytime I put some music to play here, I need to disable Hotot.

Hope you guys understand me and have some instructions about this to help me.

Many thanks.

HI, Open preferences dialog and go Appearance Tab. You can uncheck the the
checkbox in Sound Column. This will disable the sound.

I am sorry that for some reasons we don't have a plan to make notification
sound changeable...

The client it self is awseome, best twitter client ever, BUT..
Please make the sound softer or add new sound, it's terrible.

I'm currently using Linux, Fedora Core 17 (64bit) and what I have done is just
replace the wav file that is used for notifications, (which for Fedora when
installed via the repo is located at /usr/share/hotot/sound/notify.wav). Seems
like it will take any wav as well. Most likely the same process will work on
any other distribution and Windows.
