Animated Avatars problem

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. follow someone with animated avatar (gif?)
2. the animated flashes
3. cpu use up to 40 - 50%

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
show fine animated avatar or take a shot and use like a static avatar.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and
what Desktop Environment?
mandriva 2010.2, hotot hg updated 2011-06-14

I have no idea about solving this problem ... maybe you can tell the guy stop 
using the fucking animated avatar ... :(
