commit is ungodly slow #553

using svn+ssh to commit.

Watching tortoise report 4k/s uploads, but windows and my router say tortoise
is sending data at 50k/s. So what the hell is it sending that is 10x the size
of the actual files?

People here report "This only happened to me AFTER I upgraded to 1.7.x... It
was perfectly fine before, and 1.7.2 has made my life a living hell. 15 second
commits turned into 5 minute commits":
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/949492/svn-tortoise-painfully-slow

Also, running tortoise should at least bring up the settings dialog or repo
browser, not just fail. Seriously people.

A bug report is a gift. If you care about your project you will appreciate a
chance to fix it, even if it doesn't originate on a special mailing list.
