After Setting iPhone, Home phone is unable to receive or make calls with same service on PAP2 #469

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have Siphon setup on iPhone and make sure it works
2. Make a call from the home phone using PAP2 which is setup for same service
3. When the other party calls it rings iPhone not the home phone

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected is that if I use home phone which is also setup for the same service
provide using PAP2 the call should come to home phone instead it rings iPhone
if the iPhone is turned on or the Siphon is running in the background. If the
iPhone is turned off or Siphon is not running then the other party calls but
home phone does not ring the call does not connect. Before I setup Siphon on my
iPhone the home phone was able to receive calls without any problem.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.3.0 rc4. Using on iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.0

Please provide any additional information below.
The SIP service is setup on my home phone using PAP2 ever since I setup it on
iPhone I am unable to receive or make call from the home phone. No matter even
if iPhone is turned off or Siphon is not running. The home phone is unable get
the call. Shouldn't it be if iPhone is off or Siphon is not running on iPhone
than the home phone should be able to receive and make calls?

Hi,

Please discart the above issue. It works fine. The home phone is able to
receive and make calls it was just we have to wait for some time after turning
off iPhone or closing Siphon from iPhone.

Actually I have the exact same problem. It's always been doing this, never
really gave it much thought until today. I cannot receive calls on my home
either after I use siphon, I can still make outgoing calls though.

The only way I can correct the problem is if I reset my modem, but as soon as I
use siphon again, I have to reset the modem all over again. I have a
speedtouch 780. I'm not sure if it is the modem or my service. I imagine it
has nothing to do with siphon, but I figured I'd give it a shot and see if
anyone else has had the problem and what they have done about it.

Thanks W.

I don't believe you can have two SIP devices registered with the server using
the same account simultaneously. The behaviour you describe is normal in that
the last device to register would receive any calls, until a new device
registers to take its place.

If you'd like to use both your PAP and Siphon at the same time, see if your SIP
provider allows for sub-accounts. That's what mine does, so I can register the
PAP and Siphon separately, and route calls to one or both of them as I choose.
