Hmm.. If I understood it correctly it could be done by going to youtube video -> right click and select copy video url at current time
then in notion paste it -> create embed.
Let me know if it isn't what you're looking for.
This would only create a link that would open the YouTube video at the specified timestamp in the browser.
The functionality I'm describing is more useful. In Roam, you can create a list of timestamps beneath an embedded video. Clicking these timestamps will make the embedded video go to that timestamp, right inside of Roam.
That's a neat functionality indeed. Let me see if it can be implemented in Notion.
I would like to emphasize that this feature would indeed be very useful. Is there a reason why the not-feasible
label was added to it?
Vote up, I'm using AI tool to generate timestamped summarization for videos as my workflow. This feature would be really helpful.
I know it might be confusing if multiple videos are present on the same page. However all that my workflow needs is just one per page.
ya! this feature really needed
One of my customers just asked for something that's actually a great idea - the ability to control the position of an embedded YouTube video's playhead using timestamps. This would be fantastic for taking notes on YouTube videos within Roam. Honestly would be a game-changing feature for student especially.
I actually didn't know YouTube allowed this, but it does! And it seems that the code is actually quite simple for enabling it, at least for something like a WordPress site: https://wickydesign.com/how-to-add-timestamps-to-embedded-youtube-videos/
This feature is already in Roam, which is why my customer asked if it could be done in Notion. I wonder if it'd be possible to enable it through Notion Boost?
