E-mail Server #57

This should be a discussion. We can't really test anything until we get the domain...

I was thinking of using GSuite (this will be part of the 501c3 effort #37) and we can probably get it for cheap. I think they can do groups as well, might have to do some research... problem is we can't really test until we officially buy the domain?

Unless we can test it out still using DreamHost as the original domain hoster?

Maybe we can experiment with trial.

Things we need to verify if this is an appropriate fit for our needs.

  1. Email Domain (@gracecovenant.net)
  2. Google Groups based on each account? or can we create a service account for listservs?

@joeyzia Does Google have free stuff for 501c? If that's the case, maybe we should look into hosting on Google cloud so there's just one place for stuff. Especially if we have email stuff on Google Cloud

austinEng commented 6 years ago

Although idk if Google Cloud will have buckets and stuff for uploads like S3 does

from what I know the e-mail server is independent from Google Cloud. Maybe I'm mistaken. I think it's using G-Suite? or maybe it's the same thing. let's just stick with aws, and then see where g-suite can take us independently.

right, I meant G Suite

Update (for history): We have G Suite for this now
