Maybe, but it's not a priority. I think the main thing is to switch it over to the Asset Pipeline plugin from the Resources plugin. Some of this is discussed on the Manning forums.

If an enterprising user submitted a pull request with the necessary changes, that would certainly be appreciated. One also needs to bear in mind that Grails 3.0 is now out, which has even more significant changes.
