I was reading this old message on gf-dev and thought I should update the documentation. plus,

fixed a typo on the GF website index
removed a link to an old wiki on google code that seems to be irrelevant nowadays (I may be wrong, so I put that in a separate commit that can be cherry-unpicked)
most of the diff is trailing whitespace removal (I always forget this setting is turned on on my emacs), so I felt I should link the real changes: 1 and 2

Great! The wiki definitely seems dead, but if someone has objections, it isn't that hard to reverse. I'm merging this.
