Gimbal servo twitch #28

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. servos connected to pins 44 and 45 (AIO PRO)
2. Tilt and Roll on RC5 and RC6

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The gimbal servos are twitchy. They react as they should but there is a
constant random jitter. The jitter is more visible on pitch, while the gimbal
is not moving. The jitter occurs approximately every 3-4 seconds.

What version of the MegaPirateNG are you using?
2.8R3 (issue also present in 2.7)

Please provide any additional information below.
I have tested several servos and all behave the same way. Other users reported
the same problem. The jitter occurs with CH6 RCinput active or disabled,
regardless if the "stabalise tilt/roll" is active or not. I'm using an AIO PRO
FC + Turnigy9X rc system.

I have the same issue, incredibly twitchy and nervous movements. my gimbal is
driven directly by the servos on both axis.

RC5 and RC6 uses software PWM generator. It can produce Jitter on it's output.

But if you use frame configuration up to HEXA, and D11 and D12 pins not used.
You may connect gimbal servos to this outputs (D11,D12) and assign RC10, RC11
channels instead of RC5 and RC6.

Changed to rc10 and rc11. Better but jitter starts towards end of flight (4Min)
and footage is unusable. With 2.7r4 all was good using ch7&8. Is there anyway I
can safely mod the code to use 7&8 again.

Cheers,
Andy
