You're aware of the existing mod that achieves this?

The same author has a whole "collection" of similar collectors for various substances.

Sap is a Mistlands resource. Resin is a Meadows resource. They are not the same.

Also, the author you linked to has a sap mod, but it doesn't place the sap into chests, like V+ does with honey, which is part of the "features" that the original poster is asking for.

Now it's your turn to look silly: the original poster here is the maintainer of the mod. This was a note-to-self for future work. If you were paying attention, you'd have known that he does this a lot. I pointed out to him another author doing similar things who might have wanted to collaborate or merge work.

I posted out of interest in the feature suggested in the title.

The mod you pointed out doesn't "achieve this," and I fail to see how your secret context changes that.

I don't think it is reasonable to assume users must research and respect anyone's secret context before posting.

To think that I posted to make you "look silly" and that you need to one-up me is amusing, I suppose.
