Feature requests

I'd like to request the following IRIS superpower(s), change(s):

• [ ] Add a Equation editor or guidelines
  • I was answering one of the request by a student about a plot and, as a sighted user, I didn't know how to write the equation in the editor (i.e. what is the best way to write it for a VI person). For instance, shall I use x*x, x×x, x² etc. As many requests might include graphs and equations, it might be good to provide some guidelines on this topic. Also, for more complicated requests, an editor would be helpful.

An equation editor is a good idea. Our original plan was to enable parsing of MathML (homepage here, LaTeX-like syntax) for equations, but are concerned that plenty of potential volunteers don't know latex.

The developer overhead for creating a GUI equation editor from scratch would be huge so if you know of any tools that would be greatly appreciated!!
