Android Auto - Initial wired connection works, any later connections fail. #3177

Installed GrapheneOS for the first time today, and ran into an issue getting Android Auto working (Pixel 6 Pro)

When first connected to the car (Volkswagen) via USB cable with wired permissions only, I got the usual "Set up Android Auto" series of screens, and then everything worked correctly, except Bluetooth repeatedly prompted to connect.

Since then, I've repeatedly been unable to connect Android Auto the car. I get a loading spinner on the car, and it says it failed to connect.

Android Auto and all Google dependencies were installed.

I tried:

Sometimes I could get back to the original behaviour after wiping, where I could go through initial setup on the car screen and have Android Auto work until I wanted to connect next time.

Here are the logs from Android Auto: Android Auto log 85c5c9121c22.txt

Try giving it wireless too even if you're using it wired. Some cars will require that.

Yeah, I tried giving it all of the permissions (Wired, Wireless, Audio and Handling phone calls). Didn't fix the issue, saw the same behaviour unfortunately.

Update on this: Had to make another car journey, and Android Auto started working as soon as the phone was plugged in.

Makes me wonder if it was an issue with the head unit, that got resolved by leaving the car off for an hour.

The wireless connection even started working on the return journey. I've saved additional logs if they'd be useful. :)
