com.YoStarEN.AzurLane fails to start on build number 2024070900 #3752

Previously, I was able to play the English version of Azur Lane (com.YoStarEN.AzurLane) as well as its Japanese counterpart by having the "Exploit protection compatibility mode" option active in the app settings.

However, after updating GrapheneOS to the latest version yesterday (build number 2024070900), the game app fails to start. It repeatedly flashes between the app icon and a black screen many times before finally exiting back to the home screen. Previously I saw this behaviour only when the "Exploit protection compatibility mode" option was disabled.

I run my games (including Azur Lane) on a separate user so I do not need Google Play Services, etc. on my main user account, in case that is important for the issue.

I'm aware that this is an issue with the Azur Lane app and not with GrapheneOS, and from searching on Google about issues with games starting, I saw that this has happened to this game before. I'm opening an issue as suggested on the GrapheneOS website and will send a generated bug report via email as shown on that page.

I've also exported the log from the app itself and attached it here: Azur Lane log 52a84330055c.txt

Should be addressed by the upcoming release. See https://x.com/GrapheneOS/status/1811528694545907907.

Thank you for the prompt reply! I look forward to seeing if the next release solves the problem. 🙂

Can confirm that Azur Lane is working now with the newest release (build number 2024071200).
