Inconsistend Hotspot behavior

Device: pixel 7 Pro GOS Version: Latest by issue date (202408600

Issue: I'm facing issue with WIFI Hotspot behaving inconsistent and unreliable. My observations are following:

• WIFI Hotspot is limited to 2.4GHz (due to wrong regional regulations, but not what this issue is about)
• Devices connected to this hotspot face random diconnects without ability to connect back within some time (windows/fedora laptops, openwrt router) - they just "Can't connect to wifi network" without reason; also connection can be suddenly dropped without reason (phone is located near the laptop and other wifi networks work perfectly)
• Sharing mobile internet can be done only with speed fluctuations and also random disconencts, so re-tethering some network also cause undefined speed drops and/or disconnects.
• Transfer between directly conencted devices also face speed drops and/or lag (like connecting raspberry pi zero to phone and fetching files or observing laggy ssh session)

In my assumption, sharing mobile network can be related to ISP slowing down tethered traffic, but I can not understand why clients get randomly disconencted or wifi speed and latency fluctuates

The regional restrictions should be identical to the stock Pixel OS.

Not clear why you would have connectivity issues. Slowdowns could be from the carrier detecting the traffic via TTL. You can try raising TTL by 1 on the clients to hide that it's tethered traffic.

It doesn't work, even if tethering to router that wraps everything into VPN. The only method that worked before is wrapping tethering into VPN
