Toggle On Airplane Mode Keeps Screen On #4007

Pixel 8 Pro. Current build, 2024090400. Toggling on Airplane mode causes screen/display auto timeout to stop working. After toggling on airplane mode, the screen does not timeout as set in display settings, until the power button is used to turn of display or phone is restarted, then functions normally again.

Are you sure it's not caused by raising brightness while doing that? That triggers keeping the screen on longer.

No. I do not adjust brightness. (Also, I have auto brightness off). I read about that issue first before posting. It only occurs when airplane mode is toggled.

Note the brightness thing is an intended upstream feature, not a bug. We could turn it off but some people like it so we'd need to provide an alternative, which there's a feature request about which we left open despite it not being the usual kind of thing we would add and it being possible via an app.
