Widgets get removed after booting into Safe Mode #4213

I'm not sure if this is GrapheneOS-specific or not, considering I don't know what changes/hardening (if any) were made to Safe Mode or the standard launcher. After booting into Safe Mode and rebooting into normal mode, app widgets get removed from the home screen.

  1. Add a widget to the home screen I used a widget from a third-party app, and placed it on the second menu of the home screen
  2. Hold the power button
  3. Select "Power off"
  4. After the device has fully powered off, hold the power button until the Google logo shows up
  5. Hold the volume down key until the device boots into Safe Mode
  6. Unlock the device
  7. Hold the power button
  8. Select "Power off"
  9. After the device has fully powered off, hold the power button to boot the device
  10. Unlock the device

The widgets disappear from the home screen.

A small bug also happens: The default keyboard and default browser are reset.

This can be reopened if it turns out to not be a duplicate of https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/453, but for now we're treating it as a duplicate.

I've reproduced this issue, it's not a duplicate.
