Instead of just being for screen lock, I would recommend that: Double-tap the top of the screen (the status bar locations) always locks the screen. I saw this on some other devices as well.
It's slightly more convenient than pushing power in the specific case where the phone is sitting on a table but that doesn't mean it's the best way to do it or that it's a good use of the gesture. It could also conflict with future Android changes.
Proposed Enhancement: Implement a feature where, after activating "Tap to check phone" with a double-tap, a second double-tap turns off the display immediately.
The "Tap to check phone" feature is convenient for quickly viewing notifications or the time. However, a useful enhancement would be to allow the display to turn off with a second double-tap after the initial activation. This functionality is present on some Samsung devices, providing users with a quick way to turn the screen off without waiting for the timeout or using the power button.
Currently, a single-tap activation can lead to accidental screen activations, such as during display cleaning or incidental touches. Introducing a double-tap requirement would help prevent these unintended activations, improving the reliability of the feature.

Thank you for considering this enhancement!
