Plans to update the data sources? #32

Many thanks for this tool. Wondering if there are any plans to update the data sources (in particular the Ofcom data, which is now getting on for being 18 months old). Looks like data from summer 2023 is now available: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/research-and-data/multi-sector-research/infrastructure-research/summer-2023

We plan to update the information this year, and have currently sourced most of the updated data. One of the major issues is the switch to 2021 LSOA boundaries for many, but not all, datasets. We will need to make some changes to our methodology, as well as data sources and calculations, which may mean more time is taken to deliver this. A general aim is to complete this by the end of October 2023.

Starting a new version under v2.0.

Great to see a version 2 in development. Is this usable at all, or do you have a target date for when it might be accessible? I'm asking because we've got a piece of work kicking off now, and would be super helpful to have access to some up to date data.

Unfortunately a number of pieces of work have taken priority over the past 6 months, meaning we have been unable to progress this. We will look to agree a DERI update release date as soon as possible, and let you know.
