@seanmcilroy29 is this a placeholder with a plan to tighten up this agenda before the next meeting? Lots of what's on there has already been discussed last meeting.

seanmcilroy29 commented 1 year ago

@jawache - Yeah, it's a placeholder, so as new discussion topics are submitted, the Agenda can be prioritised accordingly. There were a few open-ended issues from the last meeting, that have been added under 'Update'.

jawache commented 1 year ago

@seanmcilroy29 / @Sealjay / @tmcclell - Can we priorities agenda items around moving projects through the project lifecycle, or perhaps have a section at the top to make sure those are covered first? It's a primary purpose of this group and since it meets once a month to avoid blockages we should prioritize those discussions.

Sealjay commented 1 year ago

I think we should discuss that urgently, but I'd argue it's as important a priority as to whether we accept external IP, given the number of external projects trying to donate to us. I don't think we should become a dumping ground for new projects. @tmcclell @seanmcilroy29 - also, can we try and move these conversations off the agenda?

Tammy and I haven't yet reviewed and refined the agenda. I've had a first stab at prioritising, but haven't run this by @tmcclell

I agree @Sealjay that's a great second big picture topic to discuss and it can only really happen in the OC.

One more thing I would suggest removing the updates for specific projects, those updates should be happening in the WG's, so the meetup update should happen in the Community WG meeting and any Carbon QL update happen in the OS WG meeting.

I agree. I didn't add these to the agenda. I want to review with @tmcclell before making any big changes. I've re-arranged the order and grouped only.
