Proposer: Namrata Narayan | Dir. Comms & Member Relations | @NAMRATA-WOKE Abstract: We're facing a significant skills gap, where engineers, designers, and architects, among other software practitioners with sustainability domain knowledge, are desperately needed. The industry needs practitioners who can help ensure tech's rapid evolution is swift and environmentally responsible, causing minimal emissions and waste, and requiring fewer finite resources. This article provides guidance on what software architects who have completed the Green Software Practitioners training can do to affect change. Why: Need to nurture the interest of practitioners that have demonstrated a desire to learn green software principles, patterns and theory and give them more direction/clarity for how they can implement their newly acquired knowledge to contribute to making software more sustainable.
