mobile viewport is smaller than in mocks #585

Across the board in mobile we have some problems born from me leaving browser paraphernalia out of my calculations of the screen size (I was assuming 548px, it looks like the current site assumes 440px).

Is it possible to maintain the aspect ratio/dimensions of the mock, and just let them bleed over?

So instead of this: screen shot 2016-01-05 at 5 09 18 pm

We would see this: screen shot 2016-01-05 at 5 12 47 pm

And then this on scroll: screen shot 2016-01-05 at 5 13 20 pm

Here is a to-scale PNG of the whole homepage using this logic (I got rid of the intermediate "CALIPARKS" header because it's redundant): caliparks-mobile-18

And the activities pages caliparks-mobile_mobile - activity list caliparks-mobile_mobile - activity map

And the park page caliparks-mobile-17

@nicolettehayes --> so you would like to turn off full-page scrolling for mobile?

nicolettehayes commented 8 years ago

yes! I thought it already was? But yes!

I have a fix for this (mostly making the header and image carousel larger on the home page) once stamen/react-fullpage#1 is merged.

@nicolettehayes I've made some changes that are on staging, mind checking that they are along the lines you were thinking when you get a chance?

This is so great! Much, much better mobile experience for my tiny phone.

The only thing that stands out to me as unexpected, is how small the maps still appear on the Discover and Explore pages. Could we make them match the sizing of the park page map?

So this map: screen shot 2016-03-24 at 1 45 12 pm

Would have the same dimensions as this map: screen shot 2016-03-24 at 1 45 18 pm
