Seattle University and Seattle Pacific University campus footprint fixes #110

One thing I noticed in the test environment is that I think I neglected to give you the footprint updates for Seattle Pacific University and Seattle University. See attached.

In both cases, these are campus records that exist alongside some standalone properties. Hopefully the diagrams clear up most of this, but feel free to follow up with questions.

Response to my questions:

  • Yes, the outline color scheme flipped between the first campus and the second campus. Just refer to the relevant key for each diagram. Sorry for any confusion there – I didn’t do those reviews back to back.
  • I should have explained what the double outline signifies in the SU diagram. Those are buildings that are both i) child properties to the campus record and ii) being benchmarked independently from the campus. I’m fairly sure that those were being benchmarked as standalones in our database erroneously. I have changed the flag in our database for these properties so that they will no longer be benchmarked as standalone properties moving forward. You can incorporate those properties as part of the main SU campus.

Campus footprint fixes needed are here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1HKJ3akE19trvqEopzWUvbKw7Syc-Cck9?rtpof=true&usp=drive_fs

Updates here:

  1. RED and BLUE always mean the same thing for both campuses: All RED outlines should be added to either Seattle Pacific Main Campus (page 1 of PPTX), which is 25251, or to Seattle University Main Campus, which is 22062 (pages 2-3 of PPTX)
  2. Buildings with no outlines should be ignored/excluded from the footprint database

Once these footprint fixes are implemented, then separately Tom will delete the following records from the benchmarking tabular data:

Building footprints are fixed, added red-outlined footprints with corresponding ID and noted the ID for the blue outlined footprints in the powerpoint slides.

The only red-outlined slides that already existed in the db were those outlined above for 209, 777, and 22060. In the edited file I changed the ID to 22062.

Updates were made in this file; P:\proj_p_s\Seattle Building Dashboard\2024_update\seattle_building_outlines_2024_update\seattle_building_outlines_2024_update
