Actually Addititons foods don't process in a centrifuge despite JEI saying they will #2089

Forge server on Debian Bookworm (stable) with Temurin Java v1.8.0_382-b05

Expected Behavior

The LV Centrifuge produces Methane as indicated by JEI.

Actual Behavior

When attempting to process Actually Additions foods in the LV Centrifuge to produce Methane nothing happens despite JEI indicating that it should be processed.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Place a LV Centrifuge and power it.
  2. Get some Rice Bread from Actually Additions.
  3. Put the Rice Bread in the LV Centrifuge.

Additional Information

Only known to happen with Actually Additions at this time. Other mods that add food items may or may not be impacted.

This issue was cloned from Nomi-CEu/Nomi-CEu#436 as this appears to be an upstream issue with GregTech CEu and not the mod pack itself.

After some further investigating it seems to be something to do with the fact that Actually Additions uses a single item for all its food and the different types of foods are distinguished by the old numerical variant system instead of using a distinct item for each item variant.

As you can see in the following video; using the "default" Actually Additions item_food item WILL work in the centrifuge but using any other variant will not.
