I saw that this groove bug was included in the upcoming patch 2.8.2. Is it possible to fix it without touching the code, since I'm a bread, or will I have to wait for 2.8.2 to fix this crash?

You can temporarily install GroovyScript.

that version of mixinbooter is very old, you probably need to update it

The hard-dependency on GroovyScript is not intentional and has been fixed in #2230. It will be in the upcoming v2.8.2 release soon.
