I’m not sure I want to be the sole dictator of a discord server, but there definitely is a need for some sort of message board with easier/more casual messaging than GitHub discussions.

Ensure that questions are answered on GitHub discussions, and not discord, because questions there are not indexable by search engines and users have to sign into the server in order to access them. Maybe make a q-and-a read-only channel that redirects users to GitHub discussions page for the corresponding repo.
