Not clear how to, or unable to proceed after 'next' prompt

I can select different options, but I can't accept, or continue in any way. Tried all kinds of commands. Enter, letters, space, escape, arrow keys.

If it helps, I am running this in tmux

after giving up and ctrl-d'ing out of it, I did see this, but it came after forcing process termination

Hmm, even in a regular terminal it still gives me this problem
