[Suggestion] Placement for web and desktop icons #2

Open Chromus-dev opened 3 years ago

Can you make the web and desktop icons look like the mobile ones?

Commandtechno commented 3 years ago

I made these icons for web that might work, I think it would be more consistent and better to have desktop icons the default then mobile and web separate, and not just have a globe icon for web.

Anyways, here are the recolors of https://nova.streamlineicons.com/ laptop which Discord does use for a lot of their icons

other random thing that i noticed but i dont want to open another issue for because there are like no issues is maybe check if its a bot then dont put web status because its just dumb to have 99% of bots (ones that connect without mobile status) to have the web icon

Thanks for going out of your way in recoloring the laptop icon from Nova's icon pack. Unfortunately, I feel as though the public/globe icon better represents whether or not a user is currently active on the web client, whereas replacing it would only add confusion to the icon that is used to indicate when a user is active on desktop as it's very similar in that regard.

I think it would be more consistent and better to have desktop icons the default then mobile and web separate, and not just have a globe icon for web.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this. If you're talking about the "Enhanced Avatar Status" module that was added recently, then the desktop icon is already shown by default, to which it is then followed by the mobile icon (which takes first priority), and finally the web icon if the user isn't active on one of the other two mentioned platforms.

Once again, if you're talking about the "Enhanced Avatar Status" module, then this is already planned. The module is still heavily in progress as indicated by the "[WIP]" tag appended to the start of the module, however, to take care of this I've decided that it'll make use of the existing "Show on Bots" setting that is currently displayed under the "Web" settings page.
