When in combat, occasionally it seems my arcane spellbook acts as a passive shield. Sometimes arrows are blocked from the right angle, and it noticeably plays the Shield-block sound effect. It may be of note that I keep a bound-shield spell in my arcane spellbook, but only in the storage compartment. I have only ever noticed this occur when holding the book in my main-hand. More so for lack of testing, as I rarely enter combat holding it in my off-hand.
