I figured it out.
it would be helpful if you can share your experience.
@soroosj what was the solution?
Here is a reprex with different attempts
library(emojifont)
library(ggplot2)
search_emoji('\U1F1E9')
#> NULL
search_emoji('flags: Germany')
#> NULL
search_emoji('Germany')
#> NULL
search_emoji('flag')
#> [1] "flags" "white_flag"
#> [3] "black_flag" "checkered_flag"
#> [5] "triangular_flag_on_post" "rainbow_flag"
#> [7] "crossed_flags"
ggplot() + geom_emoji('\U1F1E9', color='steelblue') + theme_void()
#> Invalid: 🇩
#> Warning: Removed 1 rows containing missing values (`geom_text()`).
ggplot() + geom_emoji('🇩🇪', color='steelblue') + theme_void()
#> Invalid: 🇩🇪
#> Warning: Removed 1 rows containing missing values (`geom_text()`).

Is there a means to use search_emoji to extract country flags? I can see country flags in this emoji list: (https://apps.timwhitlock.info/emoji/tables/unicode) but a null value is returned.
Example is search_emoji('flag: Germany').
