Rebasing this caused a bunch of errors involving user being undefined in the test browser (Avatar is one part of it - I got selenium to take some console logs but they weren't helpful beyond that)

All tests passing, ready for review. The board page couldn't load for browser tests because of something in the way Avatars are working so I added a workaround to let selenium run.

The tests also found an actual bug and I fixed it. 😝
