TradHeli - add roll adjustment user parameter to counteract drift without setting radio trims #267

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. level the helicopter using cli
2. set all radio trims to zero
3. fly in stabilise mode and you will notice the heli drifts fairly quickly due
to the lateral force from the tail prop
4. user needs to counteract this by setting radio trim to lean the heli to
counteract this force

Ideally we should add a user defined parameter to add 4 or 5 degrees to the
user's roll to always counteract this force.

Randy, I'm almost wondering if this needs to be fixed? I know it was my idea,
but I haven't seen any problems with the current system.

Robert's sorted out the channel 7 flight trim feature so we don't need this
anymore

I agree, it would be a needless complexity to try and get this working vs. a
quick and easy auto-trim procedure. Not to mention the auto-trim is needed
anyway to stabilize the fore/aft trim of the airframe due to CG differences,
something that could never be sorted by code.
