camera stablization twitching #387

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Arducoper v2.3
In camera stablization when copter is not moving, camera servo are twitching
making small camera movement.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Connect gimbal servo, and power everything
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected behavior should be no movement at all, when copter is not moving.

To check if problem was coming from servo, servo were tested and connected
directly to the radio receiver, and no twitching when connected directly.

I noticed the same problem, but twitching appears around 1/2 throtle stick position (testet on the ground without ESCs). I wonder if it could be some channel interference and encoder problem ?

DJ,
If you're using an APM1 and have an atmel programmer, could you try upgrading the ppm firmware according to the instructions on this wiki page? I can't guarantee a solution but it seems to be helping some people.

I can't say I've noticed this any more on APM2, 2.5.5.
Thanks all.

I am also having problems with gimbal setup, The ch10. is twitching but
working, The ch11 is twitching (more than ch10) and is working.

I have connected the servos to Ch 10 and Ch11, enabled tilt and roll servo in
mission planner.

Running the V2.7.1 Hexa Firmware.

Tested with New Futaba S3156 Digital servos
Tested with New JR ES539 Analog servos

Results is consistent with all tested servos.

I am looking for a solution to the problems but have not been able to figure it
out.

Helge.

Running MegaPirateNG 2.9r5 and the same problems exist on ch10&11 assigned to
gimbal. Seems fine on the ground but once in flight the jitters start close to
end of 4 minute flights. Tried 5&6 and the jitter was insane.

With MP 2.7r4 using channels 7&8 all was good. I realize that MP for the Crius
is a port but the problems seem identical.

Cheers,
Andy

I hawe twitches on my gimbal to on megapirateng 2.9 on both pitch and roll.
it works perfekt but it get twitches about avery 3 sek I think there is some
problem with the signal not updating smothly enough. Conected to a reciver
these hitec digital servos I use are perfect smooth and flawless. Had same
problem with cheap servos to but way way worse.
