GPS module definition #392

Arducoper NG or ACM?     AC2 
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.    Define your GPS module in APM_Config.h using #define GPS_PROTOCOL    
GPS_PROTOCOL_MTK16
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
LED C should blink until GPS fix. Instead, LED C remains off and no GPS is ever 
detected (according to Planner.)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
AC2 2.5 and prior with 3DR MTK16 GPS module

Please provide any additional information below.
Wanting to conserve space to use latest firmware on APM1 1280

Also tested using GPS_PROTOCOL_UBLOX and my Ublox module with the same result.

I reported this problem with detailed description in issue under Ardupilot 
issues.
The issue number is 700. The problem concerns both products (AC and AP) because 
the problem code is in libraries (AP_GPS_MTK16.cpp, method init()).
