app crashes after parsing language pack #4

It seems since the September 4 update, many users cannot open the app. After an initial download and parsing of one language, the app welcomes you and then closes. When you reopen it, it hangs on a blue welcome screen. I am on android 4.2.2. It would be great to get this bug fixed, as I have a particular need for dual language, living in a country where mandarin is the main language... thanks

I have a rooted device and I can see the xml files are not coming through properly. It seems it is down, and has been down for a while. I'm attempting to restore from another device to get it working again. I don't know whether I'll have success. Either way you'll need two rooted devices, with one (super-nwt) working.

Ok I restored from a back-up and found this issue: Now that it is 1/1/2015, it searches for today's text (don't know why, I didn't ask for it...) and in the Android Debugger, it reports it can't find today's text. So I manually edited the dailyText.xml file in the /data/data/ directory so it read as today... and it finally came up, and begin to work. The downloader for the files is not working. In another thread, I'm attempting to build the project myself, to fix these issues.

Hi Guys,

I originally emailed the develop back on Mon, 8 Sep 2014 letting him know that the recent update broke the app. He replied at that time, thanking me for letting him know. But now, when I attempt to email him a again, I get a Delivery Failed message! I don't know why the developer has up and disappeared, and there are a lot of people that want to use this app.

I am not an Android developer, but am willing and wanting to learn. I have a background in programming, though it has been a while since I've done such. Please contact me at Adin.Ermie@outlook.com, and let me know if there is any way that I can be of assistance (either with trying to fix this app, or building a similar new one).

I also receive the same message. In looking at the rules of google-play testing you need to set-up a developer group.

I know you work hard buddy: Any {try - catch} blocks this time?.. errors do not have to be hard errors.
As pointed out about the SuperNWT app, the errors were simple. You just needed to keep it from looking for days that didn't exist in the daily text, and correct the downloader. Also many of us never asked for the DT feature anyway. Regardless, there is no reason that small issues like that should prevent total function.
