Improve Box Sets management in GUI #265

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Having a relatively huge collection, I could find it useful if I had an option,
outside of MePo GUI, to manage - what's more PRE-DEFINE Box Sets during the
first configuration of this plugin. I imagine this something like...

- I create a Box Set named Star Trek
- I choose a Cover for this Box Set manually from hard drive
- I set a regexp-alike rule 'Star Trek*' - which instructs the plugin to fill
up this Box Sets with every file that contains this string.

Also it would be extremely useful for maintaining an adult video clips
collection - which I don't have, of course :) - using a secondary configuration
for them.

You already can do most of that:
http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/17_Extensions/3_Plugins/My_Film
s/AMC_Updater/Database_Fields_Tab
On database tab, title handling, you can define e.g. what keyword should be
used or wht rules to import the movies and give them automatically a collection
name. Even nested groupings are possible.
Re adding:
That is also very easy from GUI - just search for e.g. "Star Trek" - and you'll
get all results in your movie catalog.
Via context menu, you could just add them.
Re adult video clips - or other similar: This also works similar - you could
use e.g. search related properties to find all movies with a keyword etc.

Any comment on this one?
I would prefer to change the request a bit for more "GUI related" handling.
Adding two more context menu options would imho perfectly fit that:
1.) "add all movies to a collection/box-set" would add all listed movies
instead just the currently selected - so using the search by a key word, like
"Star Trek" would show you all related movies and you could add them with one
action.
2.) "remove all movies from collection" (only if IN a collection) would just
remove all films from teh collection - that is "convert" them to single movies
again

We might think about "rename collection" as easy option instead of removing all
and add them to new collection name.

Tested and working well. The only issue I have is when I remove all films from
box set, it still displays the group with 'No Films Found'. If it is easy, I
would prefer if it returned to the previous list (normally films list).
