Cannot import nfo files created by AMCU Update nfo files #363

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create nfo files using AMCU Update nfo
2. Create a new catalog - select 'Use Nfo grabber'
3. Import movies to new catalog using AMCU import - either folder or file name
title handling

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
AMCU finds the 'orphans' correctly, but does not Update the DB - log shows
'file not imported' for every movie - seems to be an issue with naming? Testing
in Grabber engine recognizes the movie perfectly.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
In addition it seems there are inconsistencies in MF nfo file format - some
tags use lower case, while others use upper case (e.g. all persons - Director,
Producer, Writer, Actors, etc.

There are a few cases where MF nfo format does not conform to XBMC format -
such as actors, writers (credits), mediainfo (fileinfo), maybe more! Please see

Does that mean, that import with nfo files does not work at all?

I can't reproduce the issue. What I did:
- created new catalog with samplemovies
- imported with IMDB-Full
- created movie nfo files in AMCU
- created new empty catalog with samplemovies (now containing nfo files) using
nfo grabber
All was importing fine.

Yes it does import now since we improved filename recognition, and better since
I modified NFO grabber with so many user options ;) However, there are still
issues! How did you save NFO? As MyFilms.nfo? or Movie.nfo?
I repeated your steps to reproduce, using movie.nfo and results are:
1. No cover/picture if you use relative path
2. No Actors, Director, Producer (because 'Persons' is not a valid XBMC NFO tag)
3. Languages reads from mediainfo not Languages tag/info because it doesn't
recognize the tag <language> (and nfo grabber defaults to mediainfo language if
language data is empty.) XBMC tag is <languages> not <language>

Best way to test is use Grabber Engine ;) to see what actually gets grabbed vs
mapped.

Also MF NFO format outputs tags even if field is empty, which may cause you to
lose data in some cases as it will overwrite existing data :(

I updated NFO grabber to accommodate MF format for Certification.

Works like a charm now, thanks Guzzi!!
This will allow users to easily switch from AMC to TMM or other NFO based
catalog if they wish. They could even update their catalog by using AMCU Update
NFO (and overwrite NFO) if they make changes in MF.

I'm not sure why you set Docs to Req because docs always said that Update NFO
conforms to XBMC format = but it didn't! However, I added a note to
http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/17_Extensions/3_Plugins/My_Film
s/00_What's_New/Version_6.1 even though it isn't really a 'new' feature. ;)
