@rburghol When I have received an error with grid.Call()
in the past, it usually means that my plot window in R isn't expanded large enough for the map to plot, but if you are still getting this error after using a render command then I am not sure what could be causing that.
Note: this is not yet ready for merging.

I assume it is something to do with the the global removal, perhaps one of the bbox declarations?
