Add REST Import to Annual Summary Scripts

Rob,

We have been working through adding the rest import code to the summary script and we have some questions and comments about the metrics you want in the vahydro table linked in the issue. As of now, we changed some of the variable names to things that made more sense to us. We couldn't tell if the names in the table you linked to was meant to be final or just a quick documentation of what you wanted, with exact naming convention subject to change in the future.

Here are the variable names and what they mean that we have so far:

• varkey = 'precip_annual' description = Total precipitation over the course of a year.
• varkey = 'no_precip_days' description = Total number of days in the year with 0 precip.
• varkey = 'no_precip_max' description = Maximum consecutive days in a year without precip.
• varkey = 'water_deficit_max' description = Max number of consecutive days where ET > Precip.

Questions:

• What is the 'dry_period_max' variable and how does it differ from water_deficit_max?
• Should we add a variable for total number of days in the year where ET > Precip?
  • Maybe call it 'water_deficit_days' to follow previous convention.
• Any other variables you want us to add at the moment?
• How many significant figures should we put in the data we upload?
• Where exactly on vahydro will these values be stored once we run the code to push them?

Let me know if you want us to change the variable names of anything or have any questions regarding this rather large comment.

7/29 Update on script:

• The script has been tested, functionalized, and updated on github
  • The function inputs a landseg, the ds, and token to run
  • Once run, it uploads all of the metrics to vahydro for the imputed river segment
• We still have questions about the metrics though (see above list of questions)
