BNF Splits an equation into ordered operations and operands, respecting parentheses and operator precedence. Code from fourFn.py from pyparser project examples.
evaluate_stack() Evaluates the stack of operators and operands returned by BNF. Code from fourFn.py from pyparser project examples.
pre_evaluate_stack() Takes list of ordered ops from BNF and creates an array of single operator + operand lines that can be executed in sequence in some external functions. Requires the BNF and supporting functions but does not rely on the original evaluate_stack() code.

# fourFn.py
#
# Demonstration of the pyparsing module, implementing a simple 4-function expression parser,
# with support for scientific notation, and symbols for e and pi.
# Extended to add exponentiation and simple built-in functions.
# Extended test cases, simplified pushFirst method.
# Removed unnecessary expr.suppress() call (thanks Nathaniel Peterson!), and added Group
# Changed fnumber to use a Regex, which is now the preferred method
# Reformatted to latest pypyparsing features, support multiple and variable args to functions
