What's the role of file_names[] in summary.py? #33

In https://github.com/HDFGroup/datacontainer/blob/master/filters/summary.py, is file_names[] necessary? If so, what does it do?

I don't think it does anything. I need to get in the habit of running pyflakes on my code.
