Game CTD when trying to load saved game #149

Description: Game CTD when trying to load saved game and that file will continue to fail to load.

Expected behavior: File loads. ;8-)

Actual behavior:
The game will crash to desktop and that file will continue to do the same; this can be from the game load screen or in game. The status bar starts goes to a consistent point ( e.g. 92% or 56%) and then the game crashes.

In the SAV file "name.sav" will still exist but a new file "name.sav.tmp" is created.

This has happened several times in the last several months, so it may be related to 1.5, but I have seen similar descriptions from as far back as the early 2000's. Note: I have been playing on and off since the game first released and had not previously had this issue.

I have usually been able to find a good save and the continue as usual, however today it continues to happen with each new save attempt.

This issue has been fixed and will be provided in a future update

When will 1.51 post?

I'd say in a nonbinding way that the date is measured in weeks rather than months.

Also, FYI, in 1.51, these sorts of issues should happen less frequently in the first place. But you'll be able to load this save and continue where you left off. I've been able to successfully load your save file and play a turn in the current development environment. Just be warned that you'll probably want to switch to Legacy if you want to continue using this save file. (you'll understand when 1.51 is released)

Hi there , as I ALWAYS have the same problem, already lost 2 games , where I already played a lot of turns, which is terrible frustrating ... could we have a beta patch for 1.51 GOG version please Thanks

Hi FlashXAron, I know it's very frusterating. But also please understand that these games aren't LOST. When you are able to get 1.51, you will be able to load these saves and continue the game like normal. (most likely anyway, we haven't really run into any broken saves that couldn't be loaded in 1.51, but if you'd like us to make sure, you can post your saves here and we can double check!)
