@Peter-Kedron : I just synced changes to cleaning code to GitHub. Therefore, be sure to pull changes from GitHub into Overleaf before you push Overleaf changes back to GitHub.
I think that workflow is smooth; to be absolutely safe you could also download a zip of the Overleaf project before you pull/push from GitHub.
