i was thinking it could be a thing to start combos by specifically not knocking back the opponent

What I've done so far is buff knockback, remove hitstun, and increase endlag. As of my edits, it seems to be a long range tool rather than a combo starter.

my idea was to use it as a punishable way to help close gaps if it hits

eh not really a major tool atm, we'll leave it be as a stunner
