5 years ago I chose the easy way of duplicating the four files and not bothering this that additional logic just for this case. d²=5 and d²=6 would be special as (2, 1, 0) and (2, 1, 1) are pointing in completely different directions.
The group theory for d²=4 is the same as for d²=1. There are no explicit irreps given and the code has to just re-use the existing ones. I could also just copy and rename them and this way ignore this special logic. In either case I need to update the list of available irreps such that the job script generator creates job scripts for d²=4.
