Hi, thanks for you reports. If you can run x/y/z normally by manual control, that means it won't be a circuit problems, most likely is a mechanic fault. Maybe you are running a bit higher current for your stepper, and cause too much heat accumulate, after a period of time it's too hot and the torque decrease cause missing step. However, in our experience, we don't likely occur this issue. Where is your stepper source come from? And you'd better check the current you use is it over the maximum current of the stepper. (Or you'd better ask the one who sell stepper to you what is the actual spec of the stepper)
No in manual it is far worse

It means that your x stepper is broken.
Had to stop in middle of print,x Scoville stepper motor has gotten so hot it is melting the plastic around the motor mount.,do I repair or will you in conjunction with hobby king get replacement parts to me. How's this work.
Sorry, We are NOT from HobbyKing. So you have to contact HobbyKing by yourself if your machine is bought from them. I am sorry.
We, HKCOTA, are a non-profit organization / charity (Reg.# 91/12580) in Hong Kong. TinyBoy is an education project and the TinyBoy 3D printer is licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0 and comes ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. A number of manufacturers are using the current design following CC-BY-SA to producing their own brand 3D printer. HobbyKing is one of them. We couldn't provide any support on the machines are not manufactured by us.
For HKCOTA, we have our own small production line and is currently manufacturing small amount of the original TinyBoy 3D printer kit sets with high quality materials and parts (for children's good) for our education projects.
We are planning on shipping our kits to outside in the future, please stick with us if you would like to order our kit set.

After we Open-Sourced the design of Tinyboy 3D Printer, more than one manufacturer commercialised the design and sold a good number of printers with their own channels. More education organisations and individuals can now afford Tinyboy and take advantage to this new technology.
On the other hand, the design of Tinyboy 3D printer is released under Creative Commons Attribution-Sharelike licence and many manufacturers legally made their own modifications to fit their target audiences. We are not aware of the details of those changes and may not be able to provide the best answers to specific questions.
Any comments that we made is offered in good faith to the best of our knowledge, but they cannot be regarded as a substitute for the official customer support offered by the manufacturers. Moreover, Tinyboy acts as a neutral body to all manufacturers and we did not receive any monetary compensation to provide customer support on behalf of any manufacturers.
If you look at the bottom of the printer their should be 4-5 Stepper drivers with a little screw like thing next to them. If you lose en the screw next to the letter "X" little bit it should fix your problem.
I am having trouble with the x- axis stepper motor jumping ,not belt, not to hot printer raised 20MM off table,it will be printing nice then for no apparent reason moves(jumps) about 1MM off . the stepper motor makes an evil noise at the moment it jumps. it is no way near the limits of travel when this happens. it is making me crazy.
