Request SNOMED codes for specimen collection supervision status

Goal: Request SNOMED codes for our specimen collection supervision status value set.

Secondary goal: Document the steps needed to do this for future reference.

I believe we will need to have a code system for the requested codes like this one in mCODE, which we can populate once we get the USCRS numbers when we do the request.

Before we do the request, we’ll need to make sure we’re settled with the content of the value set:

• Specimen collected in a clinical setting, but no additional details available
• Specimen collected by a healthcare worker
• Specimen collected by the subject individual without any supervision
• Specimen collected by the subject individual with virtual observation by a healthcare worker
• Specimen collected by the subject individual with in-person observation by a healthcare worker

We presumably need to position the code somewhere in the SNOMED hierarchy, and determine which domain it should go in. 456801000124104 Self-reported (qualifier value) is a grandchild of 272394005 Technique (qualifier value), the latter of which might be a good home for this? We may want to request a parent code like Specimen collection supervision status (qualifier value) and then the codes for our value set.
