Transition from Revit Server to BIM 360 #205

Konrad,

I moved the forensic Lab from Revit Server to Bim 360. Is there a way to combine those data? or the previous data from Revit Server will be lost? Kind Regards

The proper way to "move" a file is to use the Edit Path button. So you should have just edited the path for the model, and changed it to a new path, rather than adding a new model again. Now, that you have created a new model, that created a whole new set of data in the database. I am not sure how to fix that now. I will have to look at it.

image I added them with the new feature to test it out. I am changing the file path now in the others. Thanks

image image I edit the path of the Revit Server and delete the old one of BIM 360 and it seems it deleted both of them.

@albertotono didn't I say that I would have a look at it? I also said, that the proper way to do what you needed to do, was to change the path of the previously existing file. That ship has sailed when you added new files. So let me repeat this again: please let me have a look at it. Please don't edit or delete any more of these files. I will ask you if there is anything that I need, and once its all clear I will also explain to you what happened. If at the end of it all, there is something that I can do to make it clearer or improve MC, I will take note of that too. Until then, can you please leave it be?

@albertotono can you tell me how the old file names correspond to new file names? Some of them look like they were moved from RSN to BIM360 but others seem to be new. So please provide 1 to 1 mapping for me of the old file path and the new file path. That way i will know what files got replaced with what, as opposed to what is new and what got deleted.

image The files with the arrow have been transferred in BIM360 but need to be added in MC the file SFMI-LV doesn't exist anymore My 1 (ID model) I deleted the previous location of the Revit Server.

ksobon commented 5 years ago

Ok, just to be clear. 1 doesn't have a pair. Is that a new BIM 360 file?

albertotono commented 5 years ago

The 1 was an old file, but I deleted from MC when it had the file path in the revit server.

ksobon commented 5 years ago

What was the old file path that you deleted?

albertotono commented 5 years ago

I deleted the file path with RSN:// It is not in the list, I deleted probably 1 week ago.

ksobon commented 5 years ago

What about 6 and 7? What do you mean by "has been transferred in bim 360 but need to be added in MC"? You moved the RSN files into bim 360, but they were never added to MC? Please explain.

albertotono commented 5 years ago

For the SOHA-ST (6) and JSN-LT(7) I moved the RSN files into bim 360, but they were never added to MC. Now I need to add these files to Mission Control

Ok, so I think it's all clear now. I replaced what I could, and removed what I could not or what was not worth the time for me. Have a look at it, and please: ask, before doing any of the (weird, unusual) management stuff. The whole thing is not fully vetted and still will break from time to time.
