Weighting for pairs versus triples #2

I am a student in your high-performance computing for engineers, I'm just looking for clarification on whether groups of 3 will receive stricter marking than groups of 2, thank you.

Yes, there will be an adjustment to compensate for the extra man-power in a pair versus a triple. It was mentioned in the first lecture (about 55 minutes into the recording).

The primary reason for allowing pairs versus triples is to avoid the situation where we would have all pairs except for one singleton, rather than to provide any advantage. I still think pairs work better.

How the scaling works is specific to each of courseworks 5 and 6 - I'm not stating the methods yet, as assessment should play no part in whether people form into twos or threes (trying to avoid attempts to "optimise" for the system). I'll be saying something about group formation in the next lecture.
