The current Opentrons implementation keeps track of which tips were used for which reagents so that it can reuse them if/when the same reagent is used. This can be a big savings, but it does mean that at the end of a run, there are dirty tips in the tip rack.
When the run is finished, all of these dirty tips should be dumped into the trash to avoid reusing them in a later run (potentially with different reagents).
